The Square in Torphichen village, with the Torphichen Inn centre rear. The Inn's white walls are decorated with several crosses of St John, a reference to the Order of St John which has long been associated with the village. The four arms of the Cross are said to symbolise the Christian virtues of prudence, temperance, justice and fortitude.
