Woolworths went into administration today, the banks having pulled the plug on a plan to sell the shops to the restructuring specialist Hilco for £1, in return for Hilco taking on £260m of Woolworths' £385m debt. The shop to the right of it, which I have not noticed before, is a very prominently-signed pawn broker. Perhaps a sign of the times. For a closer view of Woolworths see Image
