The grave of Paisley poet and song-writer Robert Tannahill (see Image and Image) is located in Castlehead Cemetery in Canal Street; see http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/366879 Tannahill often suffered from depression; at the age of 35, he committed suicide, drowning himself in the Candren Burn, near the Paisley Canal. Carved beneath the inscription is the bardic symbol of a harp. The inscription itself reads: TANNAHILL. Born 3rd June 1774 Died 17th May 1810 Erected over the remains of the poet 1867
