This picture shows how close The Venue is to (part of) the Steelworks ... they are actually separated by some Railway Sidings (and Fencing!). Terraced Housing and the Works Canteen (later the Victory Club) preceded The Venue. The massive Steelworks is currently owned by Tata (an Indian Company) but is still known locally as Corus or by its very first name 'Sammy Fox's. Image Image
