Concrete parapet of The Stank

The Stank is an ancient earthwork, reconstructed and strengthened in 2003 by the Environment Agency to protect the community of Hampton Bishop from flooding. During the floods of July 2007, the defences did hold back the waters of the Wye but unfortunately the village was flooded by the River Lugg.
