Eckington Neighbourhood
This Safer Neighbourhood area covers the town of Eckington, 7 miles (11 km) northeast of Chesterfield and 8.5 miles (14 km) southeast of Sheffield on the border with South Yorkshire. It belongs to the North East Local Policing Unit.
Eckington is a town that grew mainly as a result of the now greatly diminished mining industry, with a population in excess of 11 thousand people. The town has several active residents groups and parish council, with a range of schools from infant to a sixth form college.
