This Safer Neighbourhood area covers Codnor, Waingroves and Langley Mill. It belongs to the Amber Valley Local Policing Unit.
Waingroves and Langley Mill are situated between the market towns of Ripley and Heanor. They are former mining communities which are in a semi-rural location.
Langley Mill has close social and economic links with Eastwood that lies less than a mile away over the county border in Nottinghamshire. It has good communication links with a railway station and road links to Nottingham and the M1.
