I joined West Midlands Police in 1999, initially serving as a response officer in Kingstanding, before gaining extensive experience in neighbourhood and custody positions. More recently, I was given a leading role at both a force and national level to reshape the West Midlands Police IT infrastructure. I have also had responsibilities for Early Help, Missing Persons, School Intervention and Prevention, Adult Vulnerability, and Serious and Organised Crime and Exploitation in the Birmingham area. In February 2024, I began serving the Northfield constituency, which encompasses the Kings Norton, Longbridge, Northfield, and Weoley wards. I feel extremely proud and fortunate to lead a team of dedicated officers who share my commitment to ensuring the safety and security of our community. Every day, I look forward to coming to work, striving to make a meaningful and positive impact for local residents.

Anti-social behaviour and shop theft around supermarkets in the Longbridge shopping area.

Addressing these issues and supporting local businesses is a priority for us. We are working closely with local shops via a shop watch scheme to support their security measures including offering crime prevention advice during our increased patrols and adopting a pop up crime prevention stall as often as possible. We are also working towards issuing Community Protection Warnings (CPW) as a preventative measure for those causing asb and also arresting those that commit thefts from stores.

Reports of vehicles being stolen and broken into near to Morrisons, Rubery

We have increased our targeted patrols at the location, albeit the local team or other departments such as the vehicle crime team and response officers.
As we gather intelligence we are ensuring offender are being arrested and prosecuted.
The local team are also ensuring pop in crime reduction stalls outside the front of Morrison's and we are linking in with their management to ensure a joined up approach to target harden the area.
