West Mercia Police Information
West Mercia is the fourth largest geographic police area in England and Wales. The force area is divided into five territorial policing areas, which match the boundaries of our local authorities.
While West Mercia is predominantly rural, it also contains some densely populated urban areas and many market towns. To ensure we strike the right balance between addressing national and local policing priorities, the force focuses its activities on three priority areas:
- Serving
- Protecting the public

Neighbourhood Officer Details
Following an early career in licensing I joined West Mercia Police in 1990 immediately being posted to Wellington Police Station.
Within a short time I joined the Telford Armed Response Teams where I worked for the next 12 years prior to promotion to Shift Sergeant and a 4 year period within Telford Custody Unit.
In 2008 I joined the Force Professional Standards Department where I worked within the Misconduct arena for 5 years before returning permanently to Telford on promotion to Inspector in 2014 within the Telford Safer Neighbourhoods Team West.
Trudy joined West Mercia Police in 1999 as a Special Constable working alongside regular officers from Wellington. In September 2006, Trudy changed roles and became a Police Community Support Officer becoming a member of Wellington North SNT. Trudy is well known to the residents of Dothill, Parklands, Shawbirch, Bratton and Admaston who recognise her as she walks or cycles around the area that she patrols. Trudy spends some of her time going into the six schools that she covers delivering safety talks to the pupils and is a friendly face to the pupils as she walks and cycles around the school times. Trudy also works with partner agencies to help resolve local issues.
Sally became a PCSO November 2019, she is working on the Wellington North Patch (Dothill, Shawbirch, Admaston). Sally has a wealth of experience of working with a variety of individuals and offering support, advice and guidance, she is very personable and enjoys talking with everyone and anyone. You will often find Sally out on foot patrol, or, sometimes cycling in the Wellington North area.
My name is PC Clayton and I am currently the Safer Neighbourhood team Police Officer for Brookside. I have worked the South Telford area for 13 years in my role as a response officer. I joined the SNT team in July 2015.
I look forward to continue meeting members of the community whilst out on foot patrol and when on the police bicycle. I understand that Brookside has a strong community spirit and has undergone recent redevelopment. There is an excellent Community Centre that is run by Big Local. I am passionate about doing the right thing for the community and have a desire to keep this area as safe as possible.
