Thames Valley Police - Crowthorne Neighbourhood

The Illegal use of E-Scooters & E-Motorbikes on paths within the areas have been highlighted as a Top Priority in the recent Neighbourhood Priorities Survey by local residents on August 1st 2025. These priorities will be focussed on for 3 months. This is primarily in Wildmoor Heath and the surrounding areas.

The Neighbourhood Team will conduct patrols in areas that E-Scooter and E-Motorbike use is widespread. Illegal riders will have their vehicles seized using Section 165 of the Road Traffic Act 1988 (RTA) and other RTA offences may be dealt with accordingly.

28/11/2025 Sandhurst and Crowthorne Neighbourhood officers seized x2 E-scooters being ridden illegally under section 165 of the Road Traffic Act 1988.

03/12/2025 - The Team have been into Wildmoor Heath on a number of occasions on patrol and spoken to users but have not come across any illegal use of Escooters or Ebikes. PC Brancato is planning an Operation in December.

Speeding on Crowthorne Road leading into Crowthorne. Noise complaints of loud exhaust from cars and bikes during the night and early morning.

Speed Operations have been conducted however the noise complaints, we are limited to what we can do as we do not have registrations of vehicles.

Officers have been in the area but due to times of these calls normally after 22.00hrs and into the early hours of the morning, we have not managed to catch anyone.

Officers continue to patrol Crowthorne Road. Nothing to constitute issuing of S.59 notices for ASB driving along this road within this period.

Speed enforcement operation carried out by officers in Crowthorne on 13/10/2025 on OLD WOKINGHAM ROAD which is a 40MPH road. No speeding offences committed within an hour of speed enforcement via use of speed gun.

Crowthorne Road not suitable for use of speed gun by officers due to risk of working on fast roads.

Roads Policing department have assisted with a survey where a speed van have been deployed in November. They have concluded that speeding is not an issue. They have also stated that there is no safe spot for vehicles to be pulled over. We will keep this in view during patrols and deal with each case separately.

Bracknell South NHPT will continue to focus efforts on the issue.

This includes Car Meets taking place in The Meadows and ASB by neighbours on Moor Close.

The neighbourhood team will conduct high-visibility patrols during peak times. Currently, the issues are primarily occurring in the evenings, so the team will use their late shifts to maintain a visible presence in the areas. They will aim to stop and engage with individuals suspected of causing problems and will perform stop searches when necessary.

03/12/2025 - A multi-agency meeting has been held on a monthly basis between the Police, Tesco management and representatives of the company managing the car park. Following these meetings, Tesco have placed speed restriction humps in the car park, CCTV tower, time restrictions and boards advertising fines if these have been breached.

03/12/2025 - Roads Policing have been contacted and completed speed checks along Rackstraw Road. They have not identified any speeding issues after reports of cars speeding along this road. There have also told us that there is not a suitable place for stopping cars safely on that stretch of road. The Neighbourhood Team will keep this in view and continue patrols in the area.

03/12/2025 - PC Crossman has been liaising with ABRI Housing to resolve issues around Moor Close. This has now reduced reports significantly down to two neighbours not getting on with each other. The continuation of partnership working will continue to assist the residents going forward.

Joint TVP and Trading Standards Operation on Crowthorne High Street targeting the illicit sale of illegal tobacco. x1 arrest made of a male in his 20s.

2/1/2026
Officers were on patrol in Butlers Park due to teenagers using the area to smoke cannabis. They have come across a vehicle with 3 males standing around it. 2 were detained and the 3rd male ran off. Due to the smell of cannabis in the air, both males were searched and a small amount was found on one of them. He was issued a Community Resolution.

20/01/2026 - Officers have been patrolling The Meadows car park in Sandhurst over the past months and there is limited activities due to the cameras and speed humps being put in place by Tesco.
The issues around Moor Close have declined but still getting the odd report from residents so patrols have been put in place to disrupt these.

Update 20/01/2026- due to continued partnership working between TVP and The Meadows the last 6 months has seen a 63% reduction in Anti social behaviour at this location. Efforts will continue to sustain this long term.

Targeted patrols conducted by P9757 Kennedy and PC 1844 Zaremba in Morgan recreational ground and Crowthorne high street - members of the public engaged with but no drug offences observed between 9pm and 10pm.

Week commencing 01/04/2026 - Speed enforcement van deployed to Dukes Ride, Crowthorne where a number of motorists were caught doing excess speed.

We are still monitoring the issues and will deal with offenders when we see them.

Addressing drug use and associated behaviour—particularly within the night-time economy—was a priority throughout the month:

Targeted patrols focused on pubs and surrounding car parks, including:

Prince of Wales
Buckler’s Park (H&W)
These locations had been highlighted due to reports of suspected drug use and associated nuisance parking.

Dedicated licensing operations and engagement visits were conducted:
Drug swabbing took place inside licensed premises.
Pub management were supported with advice on identifying and managing drug misuse.
One landlord confirmed evidence of Class A drug use in toilets, demonstrating the value of proactive police engagement.

Intelligence gathering was strengthened through:
Retail engagement (Op Purchase) identifying issues such as illegal tobacco/vape sales in a vape shop on Crowthorne High street.
Stronger links with businesses, encouraging information sharing and reporting.

Despite intelligence indicating concerns, no significant drug-related incidents were detected during patrols, suggesting that visible policing acted as an effective deterrent.

Officers conducted a speed gun operation on Crowthorne Road but no speeding offences were identified.

While formal speed enforcement activity was limited officers addressed road safety concerns through engagement, visibility, and problem-solving:
Community engagement identified speeding concerns on Nine Mile Ride, alongside issues with parking and e-scooter use.

School patrols tackled dangerous and inconsiderate parking:
Officers issued advice to drivers obstructing dropped kerbs and residential access.
Ongoing issues were identified on New Road and Church Road East.

Engagement events and community meetings highlighted that road safety remains a key concern for residents, with requests for continued patrols and enforcement.

This approach focused on education and behavioural change, helping to improve safety without the need for formal enforcement action.

During June 2026, officers across the Crowthorne neighbourhood delivered a highly visible and proactive policing approach, combining targeted patrols, community engagement, partnership working, and enforcement activity. This work directly supported the key neighbourhood priorities of anti-social behaviour (ASB), drug-related activity, and speeding/road safety concerns.

ASB prevention and early intervention remained a core focus, with officers targeting known hotspots and engaging with both young people and the wider community:
•High-visibility patrols were carried out regularly in Crowthorne High Street, recreational areas, and during after-school periods, addressing concerns around youth-related ASB, shoplifting, and disorder.
•Officers engaged directly with schools (Crowthorne CofE, Our Lady’s Prep, and Hurst Lodge School), building relationships with students, staff, and parents. These engagements identified parking-related frustrations and minor ASB concerns, particularly around school pick-up times.
•Problem-solving activity included:
oAddressing neighbour disputes on Pinehill Road, with a Good Neighbour Agreement proposed.
oSupporting retailers experiencing low-level theft and youth nuisance behaviour.

•At Morgan Recreation Ground, patrols targeted ASB linked to e-bikes and e-scooters, responding to community concerns about unsafe use in public spaces.
•During warmer weather, officers attended Heath Lake to deter unsafe behaviour (e.g. open water swimming), offering safety advice to prevent incidents.

Through consistent presence and engagement, officers reported minimal escalation of ASB incidents, alongside positive feedback from residents and businesses.

Summary of activity from Sandhurst & Crowthorne neighbourhood officers tackling drug related offences in July 2026 for Crowthorne:

Officers continued proactive work against suspected drug activity within the Crowthorne area.

Targeted patrols were conducted around Swords Drive, Hatch Ride, Sydney Close and Crowthorne High Street following intelligence relating to suspected drug dealing. Officers carried out visibility patrols, gathered community intelligence, and conducted enquiries at relevant addresses. Information obtained during patrols was submitted to support ongoing investigations. Stop search carried out under the Misuse of Drugs Act on individual the NHPT have information on that is linked to drug supply and weapon carrying - resulting in intelligence picture being further built around this individual and partner agencies informed to manage risk around this individual.

Additional patrols were carried out around Buckler's Park and Crowthorne High Street in response to reports of youth gatherings involving suspected drug use and potential drug dealing. Although no offences were identified during the patrol periods, the high-visibility presence reassured residents and disrupted opportunities for criminal activity.

Community engagement activities also generated valuable intelligence from residents concerning drug-related concerns and associated anti-social behaviour, helping officers to better understand local issues and direct future patrol activity.

Summary of activity conducted by Sandhurst & Crowthorne neighbourhood officers tackling speeding and road safety as a priority in July 2026:

Road safety concerns continued to feature prominently in community discussions throughout the month.

Targeted speed-monitoring patrols were conducted on Old Wokingham Road, following reports of speeding vehicles. Whilst no offences were detected during the patrol period, officer presence helped reassure residents and reinforce safe driving behaviours.

During community engagement events and "Have Your Say" sessions, local residents raised concerns regarding dangerous driving and speeding on Addiscombe Road, as well as concerns surrounding the use of Sur-Ron motorcycles, e-bikes and e-scooters in public places. Intelligence was gathered and submitted for further assessment, with officers providing advice and reassurance to residents.

To address concerns relating to cycle theft and the misuse of e-bikes and e-scooters, officers held a successful bike marking and crime prevention event at the Baptist Church on Crowthorne High Street. More than 25 bicycles were registered on the national bike database, with attendees receiving crime prevention advice and information regarding the legal use of e-bikes and e-scooters. Within this event advice and education around the law surrounding illegal use of e-bike/e-scooters which are the subject of speeding concerns was passed to a large portion of the community attending.

During July 2026, officers across the Crowthorne neighbourhood delivered a highly visible and proactive policing approach, combining targeted patrols, community engagement, partnership working, and enforcement activity. This work directly supported the key neighbourhood priorities of anti-social behaviour (ASB), drug-related activity, and speeding/road safety concerns.

Summary of activity conducted by Sandhurst & Crowthorne neighbourhood officers tackling ASB in July 2026:

Officers conducted a number of targeted patrols in response to reports of youth-related ASB, particularly at Buckler's Park and the Hub, following concerns about large groups gathering and causing nuisance.

High-visibility patrols took place throughout the month, including evening patrols of Buckler's Park and surrounding areas. Officers engaged with young people present, conducted reassurance patrols, and liaised with local residents and park users. During these patrols no significant ASB was identified, indicating that police visibility continues to act as an effective deterrent.

Officers also investigated reports of ASB affecting local businesses. Following reports of egg-throwing and theft offences at Berkshire Cycles on Crowthorne High Street, officers reviewed CCTV footage, gathered evidence and began enquiries to identify those responsible. Positive feedback was received from the business owner regarding the support provided.

Engagement with young people remained a key focus throughout July. Officers delivered safety presentations to Beaver and Scout groups at Edgebarrow School Scout Hut, covering stranger awareness, personal safety, and how to contact emergency services. Further engagement took place with local teenagers on Crowthorne High Street and at community events, helping to strengthen relationships and encourage positive interactions with police.

The policing team also supported the annual Crowthorne Carnival, providing a visible presence throughout the event. Feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive, with officers helping to reassure the public and prevent disorder.
