Burton Urban Neighbourhood

Burton is world famous as the home of brewing - a tradition which is still very much part of the town today.

Famous beers such as Bass and Marston’s Pedigree have their roots in Burton which grew as a brewing centre because of its water supply. Traditional pubs selling ‘real ale’ still form part of the town’s social life as well as modern bars catering for a younger crowd.

The pedestrianised town centre has three main shopping centres. There are also excellent leisure facilities and post 16-education is on hand through Burton College.
