The Duckeries and surrounding area, along with the green space, is at present, an area that is experiencing a significant amount of Anti-Social Behaviour and Criminal Damage. Recent incidents have had a significant impact upon residents and passers-by, with properties and vehicles being damaged, and wheelie bins being stolen to set alight. They are gathering in large groups drinking alcohol, smoking cannabis and there has also been reports of some of the youths in possession of knives. Passing vehicles have had damage caused by thrown objects, one incident resulted in the driver’s window of a taxi being smashed and a large brick hitting the driver’s head. Youths are also throwing large bricks at police vehicles when they attend to deal with the incidents. Recent events have shown that the gathering of youths on The Duckeries green space and surrounding area has and could cause significant harassment, alarm and distress to the wider public. Their apparent willingness to engage in criminal and anti-social behaviour poses a serious threat not only to their safety, but that of others.
