Bike theft, Bromborough.

Following a rise in bike theft, officers are working hard to bring offenders to justice and prevent future crime occurring.

Community surgeries have highlighted issues with youths and criminal damage being caused in Bromborough Rake. There are also concerns in relation to the noise and distress caused by patrons leaving the drinking establishments in the local area.

Officers are working closely with partners including Wirral council ASB team and both internal and Wirral council licensing teams to ensure the issues around the closing times of licensed premises is less impactive on local residents.
We are also working with our design out crime team along with Mersey Rail and BTP to ensure the ASB around the Rake and railway station is being targeted. We will be utilising appropriate stop search and use of ASB legislation and prevention orders to disrupt this behaviour.

Community feedback gathered during recent neighbourhood policing surgeries has identified two key areas of concern within the Bromborough Rake area:
Youth-related anti-social behaviour and criminal damage
Residents have reported ongoing issues involving groups of youths engaging in anti-social behaviour, including damage to property and causing general nuisance. These incidents are impacting the sense of safety and quality of life for those living and working locally.
Noise and distress caused by night-time economy patrons
Concerns have also been raised regarding disruptive behaviour, noise, and distress caused by individuals leaving local drinking establishments during the late evening and early morning hours. This is contributing to community tension and affecting residents’ ability to enjoy their homes in peace.

The neighbourhood policing team will prioritise:
High-visibility patrols at key times to deter youth ASB and criminal damage.
Targeted engagement with young people, parents, and partner agencies to address behaviour and identify underlying causes.
Working with licensing officers, local venues, and the council to reduce alcohol-related disorder and ensure responsible management of the night-time economy.
Utilising enforcement powers where appropriate to safeguard residents and reduce repeat incidents
