Melton Town North Neighbourhood
The Melton town north neighbourhood beat covers the north area of Melton Mowbray town from Asfordby Road in the West around to Saxby Road in the East and includes the Nottingham Road, Scalford Road and Thorpe Road areas. The beat is served by the Melton Borough Wards of Sysonby, Egerton and Newport.
The beat is particularly busy and is a residential area containing two local authority housing estates, some privately owned properties, industrial premises and a large Tesco supermarket on the edge of the town. Within the beat there is also John Fernley College, two primary schools and Melton Country Park all of which give rise to differing demands.

PC 4517 Adam ATKINSON
I joined Leicestershire Police in 2017 as Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) based in Loughborough on two of the more demanding Town Beats there.
In 2020 I made the decision to become a Police Officer and in this new role I started working out of Melton Mowbray as a Neighbourhood Patrol Officer.
In 2021 I moved into the Designated Neighbourhood Officer role and spent the next couple of years as a Beat Officer in the Vale of Belvoir on the Melton Rural North Beat.
Then in June 2023 I took over the Melton Town North Beat which I now work on alongside PC 2157 Edd MCKINNON.
I am new to the role (Since June). Prior to working to Leicestershire Police i have worked for a Facilities Management Company. I am originally from Poland have have moved to the UK in 2006. I am spontaneous, creative and love meeting new people.
I joined Leicestershire police in 2008 and since then have worked in numerous roles including response policing, the neighbourhood investigation team, the road policing team, criminal justice and neighbourhood policing. I became the Melton & Rutland area Commander in September 2023 with a responsibility for managing the local priorities and working with partners to develop an effective policing strategy.
I am Sergeant James Porter, I have worked across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland in a number of roles. I am now the supervisor for NR30, NR31, NR32, NR33 and NR34 beats.

| 1 Feb 2024 | ASB: The Beat continue to conduct daytime and evening patrols around areas that have been highlighted as hotspots for ASB across the beat as well as linking in with Melton Borough Council and Local Schools to reduce the number of incidents. |
