E-Scooters.

We have been carrying out high?visibility patrols to tackle problems with e?scooters. We have worked with the community to find out where the scooters are being kept and who owns them. When we find offences, we take action. Section 59 notices have been given, and several scooters have been seized. A Section 59 notice is a formal warning we can give to someone using a vehicle in a dangerous or antisocial way. If they do the same thing again after receiving the warning, we have the power to seize their vehicle.

We are now planning an operation to help reduce nuisance vehicles in the area.

Road safety.

We are patrolling the area to help keep people safe. We are dealing with any offences we find, including Traffic Offence Reports (TORs) and Section 59 warnings for antisocial driving.

A Traffic Offence Report is a report we give when someone has broken a traffic law. The offence is then reviewed and can lead to a fine, points on a driving licence, or a court summons.

A Section 59 warning is a formal warning we can give to someone using a vehicle in a dangerous or antisocial way. If they do the same thing again after receiving the warning, we have the power to seize their vehicle.

We are also working with our partner groups to support the community.

Fly tipping.

We worked with the council on a joint operation to tackle fly‑tipping and waste vehicles. Officers spent time in Twydall, identifying locations that need further checks.

Several waste traders were stopped and their details and licences were checked. Information gathered during the operation has been shared with the council to support further action.

Drug dealing and drug taking.

We have been working in Twydall to gather information about drug dealing. Officers have disrupted several vehicles, addresses and locations linked to this activity, leading to arrests and searches.

This information has been shared with the Neighbourhood Task Force, who will continue this work and maintain a visible police presence in the area to help disrupt further drug activity.

Antisocial behaviour - general.

We carried out joint visits with the council’s antisocial behaviour team to speak with young people causing issues in the area. Some have been issued with behaviour agreements to help prevent further problems.

We are also looking at using community protection warnings where antisocial behaviour continues around Twydall Green.

Alcohol.

Officers have started issuing Community Protection Warnings (CPWs) to people whose behaviour is having a negative impact on the local community, particularly in relation to alcohol-related disorder and antisocial behaviour in the Twydall Green area. A Community Protection Warning is a formal warning that can be issued when someone's behaviour is causing ongoing problems for local residents or businesses. If the behaviour continues, further enforcement action can be taken. Officers will continue to identify and engage with individuals responsible for these issues, and additional warnings will be issued where appropriate.

As part of wider efforts to tackle alcohol-related antisocial behaviour, officers have also visited local shops to check that alcohol licensing rules are being followed. These checks found that businesses were complying with the law and were not selling alcohol to people who appeared to be drunk. This ongoing work helps to reduce antisocial behaviour, support local businesses and improve safety within the community.

During the operation, several e-scooters were seized and appropriate action was taken where offences were identified. Alongside enforcement activity, officers spoke with people using e-scooters and e-bikes to explain the laws that apply to these vehicles and provide advice on how to use them safely and legally. This combination of education and enforcement helps to improve road safety, reduce antisocial behaviour and address concerns raised by local residents. Officers will continue to carry out patrols and targeted operations to identify unlawful vehicle use and take appropriate action where necessary.
