Antisocial behaviour - nuisance.

There have been some issues with groups of young people causing problems in Kings Hill, particularly around Halloween. Because of this, extra police officers were on duty on Halloween to help prevent antisocial behaviour. Their presence had a positive impact and reduced both the number of calls we received and the problems reported in the neighbourhood.

Officers have also sent warning letters to some of the young people involved. These letters helped stop the behaviour from happening again and reminded them of the impact their actions have on the community.

E-scooters and/or nuisance bikes.

E-scooters are illegal to ride in public. This message continues to be shared via social media and in person to those that are found riding them. We will continue to seize them and educate those that believe they are above the law. Officers will regularly patrol the centre of Kings Hill around Asda and deal with anyone found riding nuisance bikes or scooters with words of advice, tickets or seizure.

Road safety issues.

Speed checks have been carried out in Kings Hill, resulting in a significant number of tickets being issued, vehicles being seized, and drivers being reported for offences. We will continue to take firm action against drivers who should not be on the road, whether this is due to drug or alcohol use or because their licence has been suspended.

Speeding remains a serious issue, and the proactive work of the beat team has already helped reduce the problems being seen in the area.

Antisocial behaviour - general.

Officers have carried out regular high‑visibility foot patrols across Kings Hill, particularly around Liberty Square and nearby residential areas. Officers have spoken with residents, business owners and visitors, many of whom have welcomed the increased police presence and reassurance these patrols provide.

As part of ongoing partnership work, officers have also spoken with local supermarket managers about antisocial behaviour concerns and continue routine welfare checks with staff. This helps make sure any emerging issues are identified early and dealt with promptly.

Theft - shoplifting.

Officers have continued to work closely with Asda, Aldi and Waitrose to support staff and improve communication around theft‑related incidents.

During a recent foot patrol, officers attended Waitrose following a shoplifting report. Staff were able to provide vehicle details linked to the suspect. This information was shared on Kent Police systems, with the vehicle now flagged for stop checks.

The details were also shared with Asda to help raise awareness across major retailers and support a coordinated response to shoplifting.

Road safety issues.

Officers have carried out speed enforcement on Tower View and several key roads leading into Kings Hill. This work forms part of the district’s ongoing focus on road safety and responding to concerns raised by residents about excessive speed.

Reports continue to be received about e‑scooters being ridden in Liberty Square, particularly in pedestrian‑only areas. Further foot patrols will take place in and around Liberty Square to monitor this issue, provide advice to riders, and take enforcement action where appropriate.

Theft - shoplifting.

Local officers continue to work closely with supermarkets and other retail businesses to tackle shop theft and identify repeat offenders.

Reports of shop theft are regularly reviewed, allowing officers to obtain CCTV footage quickly and progress investigations. Where suitable images are available, they are used to help identify suspects and support ongoing enquiries.

Officers also maintain regular contact with shop staff, encouraging the prompt reporting of offences and the sharing of information about suspicious activity. This partnership approach helps build intelligence, identify prolific offenders and support investigations.

Regular patrols in retail areas provide a visible deterrent, reassure staff and customers, and help reduce the impact of shop theft on local businesses and the wider community.

Following reports of off-road motorcycles causing antisocial behaviour and damage at Kings Hill Sports Park, officers have carried out a range of enquiries to identify those responsible.

This has included speaking with local residents, carrying out house-to-house enquiries and requesting CCTV footage or other information that may assist the investigation. Officers are also gathering intelligence to identify where the motorcycles are being stored and the routes being used to access the park.

Enquiries remain ongoing, and all information received is being reviewed to help identify those involved. Where offenders are identified, appropriate action will be taken.

Officers remain committed to tackling antisocial behaviour, addressing community concerns and helping to protect local public spaces from further damage.

Road safety.

Local officers have continued proactive road safety enforcement across Kings Hill, using information from Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras and reports from the community to identify offending vehicles and drivers.

A number of drivers have been dealt with for offences including driving without insurance, using untaxed vehicles and driving without a valid MOT. Where offences have been identified, officers have issued Traffic Offence Reports. A Traffic Offence Report is a formal report used when a driver is suspected of committing a road traffic offence.

Marked police patrols have also targeted key routes within the area, identifying drivers using mobile phones while driving and taking appropriate enforcement action. Officers have also stopped vehicles being driven in an antisocial manner, issuing warnings where appropriate and gathering information to support future enforcement activity.

This ongoing work aims to improve road safety, deter offending and help keep Kings Hill's roads safe for all road users.
