Antisocial Behaviour on the Retail and Leisure Park

Over several months there has been an increase in reports of antisocial behaviour in and around the retail park and leisure park.

Over a 3 month period there have been 19 Public order offence occurrences has been raised, 13 of these incidents where around the Retail Park area. There have also been 14 ASB Nuisance logs raised for the same time period which has seen an increase from past months for this area.

Response (3 Jul 2023)

The local community team created a problem oriented plan in place to try to prevent / reduce this problem. We looked at designing out crime on the area and suggested solution to the companies on that area. We continue to pay a hi visible presence on the area.

update - 14/08/2023
There have been 11 ASB log for the Ward of Kingswood between 01/07/2023 and 28/07/2023. These were primarily for the retail area and village green area. Several youths have been identified for their behaviour and have received visits at home addresses from both police and partner agencies.

Recently there have been several calls for service in relation to motorbikes being driven in and around Kingswood Village Green off School Lane, Hull.

Kingswood-
•Tiered list produced with Hull City Council.
•Regular engagement with shops, primarily ASDA security and Hollywood Bowl.
•DOCO report created, recommendations sent out – remains a priority
•Meeting was held on 02/11/23 with several retailers from Kingwood retail park. PC BEAUMONT, PC TIERNEY PCSO NEWTON and Sadie Reade (ASB Officer)- From this meeting stores have been advised of reporting means for crimes/ ASB issues. No further meeting has yet been arranged however will be discussed with the new ASB officer Adelle HINCH.

ASB and the use of illegal motorbike on the village green.

•PC 1759 TIERNEY has completed a POP Lite for the area and has been liaising with the COOP who are the main caller. As there was no response to the emailed DOCO a hard copy has been printed and delivered. A request for a new point of contact due to the manager moving on.
There has still been no contact despite going in multiple times.
•A DOCO has been completed and shared with the stakeholders.
•Plain clothes planned with view to identifying riders and removing motorbikes from the road.
•Work has been completed and is ongoing with Revive church and youth club is up and running.
•TSU camera has now been removed however there is an option for this to be place again should there be a requirement.
•Meeting held with Central Land holdings (who own village green) CCTV Cameras are in place and can be accessed by them. Enquiries are ongoing with the cameras being gifted to Civic.
•Work with Kingswood United- outreach sessions are now up and running on Friday & Saturday each week.

POP has been closed due to a reduction in calls for service, shops in the area have been given the tools and support to report and record incidents going forward.
All recommendations have been made.
