How you can help
Your local Neighbourhood Policing Team appreciates the importance of being in the right place, at the right time, for the right reasons to reassure the public, improve public confidence and reduce crime and anti-social behaviour in the area in which we all live and work.
We encourage all residents to call and report any issues where they live so that we can deal with any issues and step up our patrols in that area.

If you feel that there are other issues affecting you or your local community that should be given priority, please inform your local councillors or your Neighbourhood Policing Team.

10 May 2024

We continue to review and act on drugs intelligence. For operational and data protection reasons we are unable to give specific details of locations / premises or persons that we are currently interested in. We have been working with other agencies to tackle individuals of concern linked to drug misuse.

Response (10 May 2024)

We ask that you report any concerns around drugs misuse that you have. You may have information that adds to an ongoing concern, and this can really help when we apply for Warrants. You can speak to us at your nearest Police Station in confidence or alternatively report anonymously via ‘CrimeStoppers’ at https://crimestoppers-uk.org/

10 May 2024

If you feel that you have been scammed and would like to speak to someone face to face, please come into your local police station for a confidential chat. It is highly likely that it will be a known scam and you will not be alone. If your local police station is closed or you are unable to get there promptly, please do not delay. Call Action Fraud or Humberside police on the numbers below for advice.
If you think you might have been a victim of fraud report it to Action Fraud by visiting actionfraud.police.uk or by calling 0300 123 2040, alternatively call Humberside Police on 101. In an emergency or if a crime is in progress dial 999.

Do you know anyone aged 10 – 18 and looking for a way to spend your summer with friends making a difference to others in your community?

If so, then we have an initiative that is perfect, and there is still time to sign-up!

Our Lifestyle scheme is back for 2024 and we can’t wait to see what our teams do this year as their community projects.
Running for over 30 years now, the scheme encourages young people to join together as a team in their summer holidays and take part in a project of their choice that will help benefit their community in some way.

Over the years we have seen some absolutely fantastic projects, from raising money for a defibrillator, to cleaning up public spaces, to encouraging small acts of kindness to brighten someone’s day – our Lifestylers have done some incredible things for our local area.

Response (7 Aug 2024)

Keep an eye out for your local PCSOs who will be attending schools with registration forms! Be sure to follow @HP_LifestyleYET on Twitter and Humberside Police Youth Engagement on Facebook for updates about Lifestyle 2024.

7 Aug 2024

Prolific shop lifting continues to be one of our top priorities throughout August and we have been working hard conducting high visibility patrols within specific problem areas of both Wards.

Response (7 Aug 2024)

We continue to gather and submit intelligence resulting in arrests being made last month some of which enquiries are still ongoing.

7 Aug 2024

Burglaries also continue to be high up on our list of priorities and although we saw a slight reduction in Hanoi burglaries (whereby offenders break into property and steal victim’s car keys and car) there have still been high number of shed and garage break in’s stealing motorcycles and bicycle from both.

Response (7 Aug 2024)

Throughout the month of August patrols will continue high visibility patrolling.

10 Sep 2024

There will be a continued high visibility presence of patrols over the coming months to deter any would be criminals who are targeting properties and businesses alike.

Response (10 Sep 2024)

There have been some successful arrests made last month due to a mixture of our hard-working patrols gathering intel and the use of social media also. This theme will continue.
If you witness any such behaviour in your community, please let us know so we can respond, target patrols to the relevant areas and stop criminals in their tracks.

10 Sep 2024

We regularly deploy high visibility patrols to our communities in response to reports of criminal damage, drug dealing and anti-social behaviour. The local policing team have also had productive meetings with partners from East Riding Council, Parish Councils and Neighbourhood Watch groups to listen to community concerns.

Response (10 Sep 2024)

Rest assured, where we receive reports of anti-social and criminal behaviour, we will not hesitate to act. If you witness any such behaviour in your community, please let us know so we can respond, target patrols to the relevant areas and stop criminals in their tracks.

10 Sep 2024

High visibility patrolling will be a continued theme throughout the coming months due to ongoing issues regarding shop thefts. Patrols will continue to gather intel and work closely with other agencies to deter prolific shoplifters.

7 Oct 2024

Switch on to safer streets and leave a light on to keep the burglars out!

Response (7 Oct 2024)

Always lock your doors; even when you leave briefly, are outside on your property, or inside your home. Also, keep your valuables in a safe or lockbox when you go out.
•Lights - You can get plug-in timers for your lamps - and timers for your ceiling lights. Don't just light up the hall. Fool a burglar by lighting up the landing, bathroom, bedroom and living room too. Really fox him by varying the times each light comes on.

•Sound advice - Use a plug-in timer for a radio - make it a talk station rather than music.

•Windows - Remember to shut all windows, even small and upstairs ones, when you leave the house, in your garden or in the rear of your property. If you're upstairs, close your downstairs windows and if you're planning some time away, get a trusted neighbour to shut the curtains at night. You could return the favour some time!
