Off Road Motorcycles - across the ward

Response (12 Mar 2024)

Motorbikes are being ridden illegally in the area, please call 101 to report any sightings or where they are being kept so that we can get these taken off the road.

Police motorbikes are now being used to combat the anti-social behaviour being caused by youths riding illegal bikes around the area. The police motorbikes have been out and about in the area conducting high visibility patrols.

We continue to monitor the various CCTV cameras around the area and several local youths have been identified by the CCTV footage riding around the Westcliff area and are being dealt with for traffic offences.

We are appealing for information from our local communities as to the details of who is responsible for riding these bikes and also where they are being stored or housed and so would encourage people with information to make contact on either 101 or alternatively, anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

We want to be clear - we will not be tolerating the criminal use of motorcycles in this way and we will use all powers at our disposal to recover bikes being used in this way and to hold those responsible to account.

Drug Dealing: Westcliff/Riddings

Response (12 Mar 2024)

Drug dealing is a ward priority and work is being done to build intelligence to apply for warrants and stop/searching people for drugs. The local team has completed operations using a drone, off road motorbikes and plain clothes officers. These tactics will continue to be used.

We understand there continues to be concerns in respect of drug dealing across the Westcliff and Riddings community and we remain absolutely committed to taking robust action.

Please continue reporting any activities by calling 101 or contacting Crimestoppers where you can report anything anonymously on 0800 555 111.
