Priorities

17 Mar 2023

Inconsiderate parking near local schools during drop off and pick up times. This has been highlighted as a concern for the safety of children attending local schools.

Response (29 Sep 2023)

During the most recent PSF process, the issue of inconsiderate parking around local schools was once again highlighted as a concern for the local community. Therefore, this will continue to be a priority for your local Neighbourhood Policing Team over the coming months. The safety of all road users, particularly children, is a of paramount importance to us as a local SNT and will proactively target drivers who park and/or drive inconsiderately in and around local schools.

7 Sep 2022

Speeding throughout the urban and rural areas of Royston.

Response (31 Mar 2024)

Following the most recent Royston Priority Setting Forum, speeding remains to be an area of concern for the local community. Therefore, this has continued as a priority for your local Neighbourhood Policing Team. Officers will conduct enforcement operations in locations highlighted as being of concern. Please help us to make the local road network safer for everyone by letting us know any locations of concern.
Speeding operations have been conducted and officers continue to respond to reports of anti-social driving and riding (often off-road scrambler-type motorbikes).

7 Sep 2022

To continue to engage with young people in Royston. This will continue to ensure low levels of youth related anti-social behaviour and will be achieved through engagement with groups and individuals to identify diversionary opportunities that will ensure youths feel included and valued within the local community.

Response (3 Apr 2024)

The most recent priority setting process acknowledged the good work undertaken by your local Neighbourhood Policing Team to ensure youth related anti-social behaviour remains low. In order to maintain these low levels and prevent future anti-social behaviour issues, it has been decided that youth engagement will continue to be a priority for the team. The team will continue to develop existing youth programmes to ensure that young members of our community feel included and valued.
Officers continue to respond to reports of anti-social behaviour, and patrol areas in order to deter young people from nuisance activities.
