Eastleigh East Neighbourhood

Bishopstoke is within Eastleigh Borough Council in the county of Hampshire. It is on the outskirts of Eastleigh and between Winchester and Southampton.

Bishopstoke, surrounded by woods and farm land on the eastern side of the Itchen Valley, has a long history, being mentioned when King Alfreds grandson King Eadred, granted land at "Stohes" to one Thegn Aelfric in 948 A.D.

Today, Bishopstoke retains a village character, and contains many historical buildings, but is now closely linked with the railway town of Eastleigh and the adjacent village of Fair Oak. The village stages a carnival and fete in September every year which is highly regarded locally and very well attended.
