Residents have complained about unsightly vehicles , unkempt gardens and fly tipping around the area of Salvin Terrace and the nearby play park.

The cracking down on anti-social use of off-road bikes is a priority and we thank everyone who reports of issues of this nature.

Officers are conducting extra high visibility patrols in Fishburn to identify the use of the bikes along with other motor vehicles on the roads. A number of warning notices have been issued to drivers and vehicles due to their anti-social driving in the past couple of months. These warnings mean that should the driver or vehicle be seen to cause further alarm, distress or annoyance to the public, we have a power to seize the vehicle. We will be keep an eye on the roads with our warning notices at hand going forward.

Contrary to popular belief we do respond to Shoplifting under £200, We are committed to tackling theft in the Fishburn area, CO-OP and other local businesses to bring anyone that does shoplift to justice.

Sedgefield Neighborhood Policing Team have completed an operation in December to target shoplifting and more high visibility patrols have been completed.

During the darker nights, there has been an increase in vehicle thefts. The Sedgefield NPT are committed to investigating these crimes effectively and prevent further offences.

An extensive investigation is carried out for each theft, following any lines of enquiry; including CCTV and witness enquires, ANPR checks both locally and regionally and in cases where stolen vehicles are located, forensic recovery to be examined by CSIs.

Faraday bags/boxes are an effective way from preventing "relay thefts" - a technique of mirroring the signal emitted from car keys in order to gain access to the vehicle. As Neighborhood Officers, a vital part of our role is being approachable and offering reassurance to the public, especially young people (who can sometimes be weary of our uniform). It is essential that children feel confident to speak to police, so that they know who to go for help if needed.

NPT officers will frequently visit schools, but with the summer holidays now here, we think its vital for young people to see us out and about too!
We make a conscious effort to break down barriers and encourage positive relationships with police.
