Neighbourhood Officer Details

+
Joshua Carter (Inspector)

I have 9 years of service as a police officer. I began my career with West Yorkshire Police and transferred to Derbyshire Constabulary in 2022.

I have worked in both response and neighbourhood policing as a PC and Sergeant, and I am now a Local Policing Inspector, responsible for response and neighbourhood policing throughout Chesterfield.

As an LPU Inspector, I am responsible for the leadership of our response and neighbourhood teams, which are based predominantly at Chesterfield’s Beetwell Street Police Station.

I am passionate about community policing and solving the problems that really matter to the communities we serve.

I expect my officers to work hard to investigate crime, bring offenders to justice, and protect the vulnerable. I am committed to ensuring that my teams are visible in the communities we serve and that they develop long-term relationships with partners to help solve problems and reduce crime and anti-social behaviour.

Chesterfield has a thriving town centre, and a key priority for my team is to ensure that it remains a safe and welcoming place, with visible policing and a strong sense of community.

+

My focus is on proactive engagement, visible policing, and collaborative problem-solving with our partners to build trust and empower residents of the Chesterfield Community.

+
Rachel Kent (Sergeant)
