Neighbourhood Officer Details

+
Anthony Boswell (PCSO)

I'm PCSO Boswell. I'm one of the officers responsible for neighbourhood policing in the Bakewell, Sheldon, Over Haddon and Ashford, Hathersage, Stanton, Youlgreave and White Peak Villages, Tideswell, Litton, Baslow and Beeley neighbourhoods. You can reach my team directly by clicking on the ‘Contact Us’ tab.

+
Chris Grant (Sergeant)

I have nearly 13 years of service with Derbyshire Constabulary and was a Special Constable for five years prior to that, so I have been involved in policing in Derbyshire for nearly 18 years.

I worked on the North East LPU and SNT as a Special, PC, and Temporary Sergeant, then as a Substantive Sergeant at Amber Valley LPU and Derbyshire Dales SNT, where I have served for four and three years respectively.

I am responsible for the Derbyshire Dales Safer Neighbourhood Team, which is split between three stations across the Dales, namely Matlock, Ashbourne, and Bakewell. I ensure that my officers are visible, approachable, and regularly engage with the public. We focus on the Neighbourhood Priorities set each quarter, as well as long-term problem-solving around anti-social behaviour and prolific offenders. We also liaise and work closely with other partner agencies within the Derbyshire Dales.

My main aims are to prosecute criminals and deal effectively with anti-social behaviour, while protecting those who are most vulnerable - making the Dales a safer, more attractive place to live, work, and visit.

+
John Troup (Inspector)

I have been in force now for more than 20 years both as a regular officer and a special constable.

I have had a variety of roles during my career including a response PC at Alfreton and a safer neighbourhood officer covering Pinxton and South Normanton.

I spent two years seconded to Leicestershire Police working at East Midlands Airport then returned to force in 2007 on promotion to the force operations room that answers emergency and non-emergency calls for service.

Since then I have worked as a patrol Sgt in Ilkeston, spent seven years in the community safety partnership at Erewash Borough Council and have worked in custody.

In 2019 I was promoted to Inspector which has seen my carrying out roles such as reactive Inspector, local policing unit Inspector and working in Derbyshire Dales.

+
Karl Millward (PCSO Supervisor)

With over 30yrs of dedicated service across the Derbyshire Dales I’ve spent my career focused on tackling local issues and helping communities thrive.

Currently my role is Police Community Support Officer Supervisor for the Derbyshire Dales based at Matlock – I assist leading a team in company of the Safer Neighbourhood Team Sergeant with a hands-on approach supporting both the public and my colleagues to support a safer stronger community for everyone.

I like finding practical solutions, building trust, and making a genuine difference where it matters the most.

+
