Cheshire Constabulary - Shavington, Willaston and Rope Neighbourhood

- That speeding was an issue on Main Road and has been for some time, and that there has been a reduction in Police Presence and Police are seen less in Shavington in recent months.
- We want to see more Police around schools to address nuisance parking and speed enforcement.

- Since the reports from local residents. Local Beat Officer’s and PCSO’s have been conducting more hi visibility patrols in Shavington, both on foot and also in marked police vehicles and these patrols will continue and more of a focus will be on foot patrols in the local area.
In relation to Main Road and the speed issues, Tru Cam has been conducted on Main Road at different times of the day and these speed checks will continue on Main Road and also on other roads in Shavington moving forward.
- Since the start of the Autumn school term we’ve visited both our primary schools to educate, encourage and at times enforce parking legislation. Whilst there we were made aware of concerns raised by the Bikeability staff that the latest Y6 cohort lacked some basic road sense, we have since joined them to conduct Police led sessions in school. In addition, we have increased our rotation of Trucam speed enforcement and are working alongside Willaston parish council to reintroduce community speedwatch.

Anti-Social Behaviour and BB guns reported on Earls Road.

We have conducted hi-visibility patrols around the affected area to deter any issues. This has been achieved by engaging with residents in order to obtain evidence of the reported offences and attempting to identify the suspects. Street-a-week completed on Earls Road and safeguarding referrals have been made for those affected by the incident.

Parking issues during Primary and Academy school times.

Parking and ticketing operations carried out during school start and finishing times. Tickets were issued to inconsiderate and illegal parking.

School parking along Coppice road, Murrayfield Drive and Derwent Close and Speeding along Main Road through Shavington

Regular patrols in the affected streets during school drop-off and pick-up times. These patrols will focus on providing education and issuing advisory notices in the first instance. However, where drivers are identified as repeat offenders, Penalty Charge Notices will be issued.

Visible patrol vehicles in the area during peak traffic time. Patrol vehicle monitoring vehicles along the road to bring about speed awareness in the village of Shavington.
