Priorities

1 Nov 2025

We want to see the Police in our rural areas.

Response (1 Nov 2025)

To provide more visibility to some of busiest locations across the rural area, officers launched ‘Op Monsieur’. This initiative involved mapping and then visiting our rural pubs and restaurants. By building links we are able to provide reassurance to what are at times, vulnerable and isolated locations. Our intention is to build a Pubwatch inspired community to share best practice, safety information and crime prevention advice.

What are the Police doing about HGV’s ignoring the weight limit and diversion on Baddlington Bridge

Response (1 May 2026)

Since the weight restriction and associated diversion were introduced, we have worked closely with local councillors and Cheshire East Highways to address community concerns. Our team has increased visibility at the bridge, stopped a number of HGVs attempting to use the route, and shared regular updates through our Facebook page. In recent weeks, we have also met with Highways representatives on site to support their ongoing structural assessment work.
