| 14 Mar 2026 | Over the last month we have seen an spate in burglaries of homes and businesses, as well as theft of vehicles in the rural areas of the rural areas.. In response our local teams as well as our Rural Crime Team are carrying out high visibility patrols, whilst working with effected communities to try and detect, deter and prevent further crime. We are also advising residents to check that their home and outbuildings (such as sheds or garages) are secure, by taking simple precautions. These include locking windows and doors when you go out, even if just stepping next door or out in the garden. Investigations into these burglaries are ongoing, but we would like to remind the public that if you have witnessed anything or have information that you think could be of help, please make sure you call us on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, or alternatively if you have been a victim or witness of a rural crime you can report it via our new Report a rural crime reporting form on our website. | 2 Aug 2026 | As a Neighbourhood Policing Team, we are supporting the local community by raising awareness of fraud and scam prevention, engaging with vulnerable residents, and working closely with partner agencies to identify and safeguard those at risk. Fraud can be reported through REPORT FRAUD, the UK’s national reporting centre for fraud and cyber crime. Reports can be made online at UK’s Home for Reporting Cyber Crime & Fraud – Report Fraud or by calling 0300 123 2040. If the fraud is happening at the time, a suspect is present, or there is an immediate risk of harm, residents should call 999. For non-emergency police matters relating to fraud or concerns about vulnerable victims, reports can also be made via 101 or through local neighbourhood policing teams.ActionsWe continue to visit victims of fraud to offer support, advice, and resources to help them recognise and protect themselves from fraud in the future. Our officers have been carrying out reassurance visits to residents in their homes, providing guidance and helping those affected feel supported. Fraudsters are becoming increasingly sophisticated, constantly adapting and developing new ways to target people. Anyone can become a victim, and it is important to remember that there is no need to feel embarrassed. If you have been affected by fraud, please know that support is available.
