To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, what the average expected period for a person attempting to join the Royal Naval Reserve is from first applying to sitting an entrance assessment.

Answer

The first selection test for an applicant to either the Regular Naval Service or the Royal Naval Reserve is the Recruitment Test. Subject to the availability of the candidate and a test place, an Armed Forces Careers Office will aim to arrange for the test to take place within 14 days of receipt of an application.
