Question Asked

To ask the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, what assessment he has made of the effect of the local government finance settlement on communities with the highest levels of need.

Answer

Councils facing the highest demand for services still receive substantially more funding per dwelling. The 2014-15 average area spending power per dwelling for the 10 per cent most deprived authorities is almost 50 per cent greater than for the least deprived 10 per cent.
