Breast Cancer: Screening (10 May 2018)

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what estimate he has made of the cost on the public purse in compensation for the next of kin of women who died from breast cancer after not being sent an appointment for routine breast screening.

No estimate has been made to date of the cost to the public purse for compensation for the next of kin of women who may have subsequently died of breast cancer due to a missed scan.

Public Health England will be undertaking a case review over the coming months.
