Asked by:
Marsha De Cordova (Labour)

Answer

On Thursday 24th May I laid a statutory instrument which came into force on May and will ensure that members of the Windrush generation, their children born in the UK and who arrived in UK as minors, and others who have been in the United Kingdom for a long period of time, will be able to obtain the documents to confirm their status and, in appropriate cases, be able to obtain British citizenship free of charge.
