To ask Mr Chancellor of the Exchequer, what estimate he has made of the total payments made by parents direct to childcare providers due to technical issues experienced with HMRC's online service for tax-free childcare.

Answer
The vast majority of parents have been able to apply for and use Tax-Free Childcare without difficulty. Where parents have missed out on the government top-up HMRC pay compensation to reimburse them.
