Shipping: Training (7 February 2018)

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what funding was made available to employers from the Support for Maritime Training budget for rating to officer conversion training in (a) 2015-16 and (b) 2016-17; and what the take up was of that funding stream in each year.

Although Support for Maritime Training (SMarT) has a fixed budget, funding continues to be allocated on the basis of demand. The figures in the tables below therefore reflect the level of demand, through SMarT 3 and SMarT 5, for ratings training and rating to officer conversion training, all has been met in full.
