Answer

The Foreign Secretary last spoke with State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi on 21 October 2017. He raised his concerns about ongoing violence including vigilante attacks, and called on her government to make progress on facilitating refugee return and access for the UN Fact Finding mission. The Minister of State for Asia and the Pacific raised concerns over the Rohingya crisis in a meeting chaired by Aung Sun Suu Kyi on 21 November 2017, as part of the Asia Europe Meeting of Foreign Ministers. Our Ambassador in Burma discussed the issue with her again on 5 December.
