PARLIAMENTARY WRITTEN QUESTION
High Speed 2 Line (11 December 2017)

Question Asked

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what reports or representations he has received on advance payments from HS2 not being paid when they become due; and if he will make a statement.

Asked by:
Dr Rupa Huq (Labour)

Answer

The Department has received a small number of representations from businesses affected by HS2 near Old Oak Common about advance payments. I am aware that some businesses there have been in contact with HS2 Ltd about how they will be treated in terms of advance payments. I understand that HS2 Ltd are in discussion with those businesses to obtain the evidence that is reasonably needed by the Government in order to make an assessment of the advance payment within the required timeframes.

I have received one representation about an advance payment for a property near Euston which was due on 1 December. I expect the case in question to be concluded shortly.
