PARLIAMENTARY WRITTEN QUESTION
Church House (7 December 2017)

Question Asked

To ask the right hon. Member for Carshalton and Wallington, representing the House of Commons Commission, when the contract for emergency relocation to Church House was terminated; and if he will make a statement.

Asked by:
Sir Desmond Swayne (Conservative)

Answer

An agreement between the House of Commons and Church House expired in 2006.

The House has new contingency plans for a forced relocation in the event of a fire, flood, or other emergency. These plans are not limited by or dependent on one relocation venue or building, and they address a variety of different risks, scenarios and requirements.

It would be inappropriate to expand further due to security considerations.
