PARLIAMENTARY WRITTEN QUESTION
Game: Gun Sports (23 November 2017)

Question Asked

To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, if his Department will introduce a licensing system or a code of practice for driven grouse shooting.

Asked by:
Kerry McCarthy (Labour)

Answer

The Government has no plans to introduce a licensing system or a code of practice for driven grouse shooting. There is a code of practice for good shooting developed by the industry (www.codeofgoodshootingpractice.org.uk), which applies to all game shooting, walked up, driven, wild bird or reared.
