British Nationality (23 November 2017)

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, what assessments her Department has made of what changes may be required to the process of obtaining British citizenship for those with permanent residency status in the UK once the UK has left the EU.

EU nationals and their family members are already required to meet the same statutory requirements as non-EU nationals when seeking to naturalise as British citizens. This includes a requirement, amongst others, to demonstrate that they are free from any immigration restriction on the period for which they might remain in the UK.
