PARLIAMENTARY WRITTEN QUESTION
Palestinians (22 July 2014)

Question Asked

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, what recent representations he has received on the right to self-determination of Palestinian people; and if he will make a statement.

Asked by:
Sarah Champion (Labour)

Answer

We receive regular representations on the right to self-determination of the Palestinian people, including from governments, NGOs, and members of the public. The UK Government’s long-standing position is that we support a negotiated settlement leading to a safe and secure Israel living alongside a viable and sovereign Palestinian state, based on 1967 borders with agreed land swaps, Jerusalem as the shared capital of both states, and a just, fair and agreed settlement for refugees. The UK will continue to do all it can to support and advance efforts to resolve the conflict.
