To ask the Secretary of State for Education, what the retention rates are for qualified teachers in the East of England who began their employment in each of the last five years.

The retention rates for qualified teachers in England who began their employment in each of the last five years was published in Table 8 of the ‘School Workforce in England: November 2016’ in June 2017: https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics/school-workforce-in-england-november-2016.

Regional versions of these statistics are not available.

The Department has published information at regional level on the percentage of teachers who leave each year. These statistics were published in tables 2.1a and 2.1b in the ‘Local analysis of teacher workforce: 2010 to 2015’:
