PARLIAMENTARY WRITTEN QUESTION
Students: Income Tax (19 October 2017)

Question Asked

To ask Mr Chancellor of the Exchequer, what estimate he has made of the number and proportion of students at college and university who are liable for income taxation in the UK.

Asked by:
Wes Streeting (Labour)

Answer

HM Revenue and Customs does not collect information on whether an individual is attending a college or university as it does not affect the amount of tax due. It is therefore not possible to provide the estimates requested.
