Question Asked

To ask the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, what assessment the Government has made of the compatibility of locating the proposed Holocaust Memorial and Learning Centre in Victoria Tower Gardens with the requirements for space for works and parking at the south end of the Palace of Westminster during the Restoration and Renewal programme; and what guidance has been received from the authorities in both Houses of Parliament on that matter.

Asked by:
Sir Edward Leigh (Conservative)

Answer

The UK Holocaust Memorial Foundation is working closely with the Palace of Westminster to consider how the plans for the new National Memorial and the planned restoration could affect each other. Measures will be put in place to ensure neither project is compromised.
