To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, what proportion of the total land mass of the UK was classified as a marine protected area or a marine conservation area in each of the last 10 years.

The specific year-by-year statistics requested are not routinely calculated for marine protected areas; 9.4% of the UK's seas are currently designated as marine protected areas.
