PARLIAMENTARY WRITTEN QUESTION
Schools: Finance (12 September 2017)

Answer
Under the national funding formula for schools, every school will attract at least 0.5% more per pupil in 2018-19, and 1% more in 2019-20, compared to its baseline.
As set out in the Secretary of State’s announcement on 17 July, local authorities will continue to be responsible for determining actual funding allocations to schools in 2018‑19 and 2019-20, to support the implementation of the national funding formula.
As every local authority in every part of the country will receive a per pupil cash increase in funding, the great majority of schools should be able to receive a per pupil cash increase, too. But ultimately, this is a decision for local authorities to make following local consultation with their schools.
