Abortion: Northern Ireland (7 September 2017)

Question Asked

To ask the Minister for Women and Equalities, what changes the Government plans to the funding of the Government Equalities Office to support its work in helping women from Northern Ireland access abortion care in England.

Answer

On 29 June, the government made clear that we would provide abortions in England without charge for residents of Northern Ireland.

Her Majesty’s Treasury will make the necessary funding available to the Government Equalities Office to facilitate this.
