PARLIAMENTARY WRITTEN QUESTION
Military Bases: York (29 March 2017)

Question Asked

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, how much his Department spent on renovating and upgrading barracks in the City of York local authority area in the last 15 years.

Asked by:
Rachael Maskell (Labour)

Answer

Details of the amount spent on upgrading barracks within the City of York local authority area over the last 15 years are not held.

However in financial year 2015-16 some £1.4 million was spent on upgrading Imphal Barracks

While there is no Defence requirement for Imphal Barracks after 2031, the necessary refurbishment works represent value for money to avoid any costly repairs and to ensure the site remains safe and compliant for the occupants over the next 15 years.
