To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, what estimate her Department has made of the potential cost to the public purse of introducing mandatory food waste collections by local authorities.

My Department has not carried out estimates of the cost to the public purse of introducing mandatory food waste collections by local authorities in each of the last five years.
