Question Asked

To ask the Secretary of State for Health, what steps his Department is taking to increase the capacity of NICE's appraisal processes for (a) muscle-wasting treatments and (b) treatments for other rare diseases.

Answer

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence has the necessary capacity to develop technology appraisal guidance on all the technologies prioritised through its established topic selection processes, including drugs and treatments for muscle-wasting conditions and other rare diseases.
