To ask the Secretary of State for Health, what assessment he has made of the potential effect of proposed changes in the level of spending on mental health services for children and young people on waiting times for an appointment on first referral.

Answer

We are investing more than £250 million each year to improve children and young people’s mental health, including implementing waiting times standards for early intervention in psychosis and eating disorder and completing the roll out of the children and young people’s talking therapies programme by 2018.
