Flood Control: Databases (16 December 2016)

To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, what progress has been made in establishing the new ResilienceDirect database; how many flood defence assets are recorded in that database; and how many new subscribers have been granted access to that database since its creation.

ResilienceDirect is the UKs secure and free to use web-based platform for the Resilience Community. ResilienceDirect enables the sharing of real time information across all category 1 and 2 emergency responders, government departments and other key agencies, including the Devolved Administrations, for emergency planning, response and recovery. The database holds a total of 164,049 Environment Agency flood defence assets, such as walls, embankments and flood gates, which operate together to manage flood risk in England. Currently there are over 20,000 users.
